Third Thursdays in Old Sacramento | Local Artists & Hands-On Workshops

Third Thursdays at Old Sacramento Waterfront is a free monthly evening event celebrating local artists, makers, and small businesses in Sacramento’s historic riverfront district. On the third Thursday of every month from 4–8 PM, visitors can explore live demonstrations, open studios, creative workshops, and after-hours shopping throughout Old Sacramento.

Old Sacramento Spring Festival

Celebrate the season with the Sacramento History Museum at the fun, free, and family-friendly Old Sacramento Spring Festival on Sunday, April 26, from 11 am – 3 pm, just outside the Museum.

This lively, open-air event bridges the past and the present with immersive living history demonstrations, hands-on activities, lively performances, artisan vendors, and interactive experiences for all ages.

Dance with the Sacramento Country Dance Society around the maypole, pan for gold, and meet sheep as you learn how their wool turns into sweaters. Children can enjoy special games and crafts sponsored by The Root: Birth Babies Beyond.

Bring the whole family to explore, play, and experience something unexpected.

Earth Day in Old Sacramento Waterfront

Celebrate Earth Day in the heart of Old Sacramento at this special edition of Al Fresco on K Street Market. On Sunday, April 26, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., K Street will transform into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly space filled with eco-conscious experiences and community connection.

As the kickoff to this season’s Al Fresco series, this Earth Day event invites visitors to stroll freely through the historic district while enjoying a curated mix of sustainable vendors, live music, and interactive lawn games. Discover locally made goods, learn about environmentally friendly practices, and soak up the spring atmosphere in a relaxed, open-air setting.

Whether you’re shopping, playing, or simply taking in the sights and sounds, this is a perfect way to celebrate Earth Day and welcome the return of Al Fresco on K Street.

Parking/RT/Transit Info

Cobblestones and cars don’t mix! Park in the garages! 

Two public parking garages offer the easiest way to park:

Old Sacramento Garage, entrance on I Street between 3rd and 2nd.

Tower Bridge Garage, entrance on Capitol Blvd at Neasham Circle near the Tower Bridge.

Suggested drop-off locations – these locations will include a short 5-minute walk to Old Sacramento

  1. On the east side of 4th between L Street and Capitol Mall

Stop on 3rd St. between I and L, only a one-block walk from Old Sacramento Waterfront. Other downtown routes are no more than a half-mile walk from the historic district. More information at www.sacrt.com.
