New Years Eve Celebration
Old Sacramento Waterfront
Welcome the new year at Countdown on the Cobblestones, a lively event bringing music and festivities to the Old Sacramento Waterfront on New Year’s Eve. The event will feature live music, interactive activities, and a light show, providing a family-friendly alternative to midnight festivities.
“Countdown on the Cobblestones is free and open to the public, making it an accessible way for families and friends to come together and celebrate the arrival of 2025,” said City spokesperson Jennifer Singer.
The celebration will run from 4 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 31, with entertainment and activities stretching across K Street and Front Street. Hosted by Sacramento’s Poet Laureate Andru Defeye, join us for a night of celebration and live music featuring:
- The Philharmonik,
- DJ Epik
- Element Brass Band
- DJ El Indio
- and more!
Event Details
Entertainment – 4:00 pm-10:00 pm
Between K Street and Front Street there will be multiple stages, musical acts, lounge areas, and activations to entertain and delight!
In addition to the stellar lineup, we’ll have:
- Intention Stations where attendees can write down and take home their intentions for the new year.
- Selfie Booths and Lounge Areas for capturing memories and relaxing.
- Grounding and intention-setting practices shared throughout the event by artists and community leaders.
And let’s not forget Brass Ring Amusement’s Ferris Wheel and Merry-Go-Round will be fully active for any and all to enjoy throughout the evening, for a minimal fee!
Countdown with Light Show – 9:00 pm
Starting at 9 pm, Pyro Spectaculars, Inc., in partnership with Stage Nine Exhibits, will create an intimate display of light and pyrotechnic effects in front of the Holiday Tree at Front and K Street. The custom presentation will light up the space between the historic buildings. Please note, there will only be one countdown at 9 PM, with no midnight show.

Two-hour metered street parking is available throughout Old Sacramento Waterfront 7-days a week from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. *Please note, due to road closures for the event, it is recommended to park in one of the neighboring garages in Old Sacramento Waterfront.*
Surface lot parking is available at Front & L Street, accessible from Firehouse Alley, and two public parking garages are available: Old Sacramento Garage, entrance on I Street between 3rd and 2nd.
- Pre-pay at Old Sacramento Garage and Tower Bridge Garage is $15. Pre-pay on NYE will begin at 3:00 p.m.
