The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians’ Exhibits & Collections Department brings you the Mómti Market (River Market) on April 13th from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. in the Sacramento History Museum.

Mómti Market will feature regional California Indian demonstrators and 20 cultural artists from tribal communities throughout the region. Demonstrations include California traditional basketry, cordage making, traditional games and more.

Mómti Market is presented in conjunction with the Sacramento History Museum’s Mómtim Pewinan (River People), an exhibition guest curated by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians’ Exhibits & Collections Department. The community is encouraged to explore the installation to learn about contemporary Nisenan culture and how today’s artists and culture bearers maintain the old ways through the practice of Traditional Ecological Knowledge.
