Tree Lighting

Standing center stage at Front Street and K Street in Old Sacramento, the 60-foot tall Old Sacramento District Holiday Tree will be lit for the first time on Wednesday evening, November 22, 2017, at 6p.m. Join us 4:30pm for family fun and festivities!

Enjoy performances from:

  • The Throw Zone’s Jeremiah the Juggler
  • Sacramento Preparatory Music Academy
  • Capitol City Dance Academy
  • Violet Joy Hansen – Miss California’s Outstanding Teen
  • Sacramento City College Choir

Need some new lights to complete your holiday decorations? Energy Upgrade California will be on site ready to swap your old lights for new ones! Their booth will open at 4:30 pm, lights available while supplies last. Bring those broken lights and snag LED lights that provide brighter, more energy efficient light!

The festive tree lighting ceremony serves to kick-off the first “Macy’s Theatre of Lights” performance of the season that will immediately follow.

After enjoying festive entertainment and the lighting of the Holiday Tree, stick around for the opening performance of Macy’s Theatre of Lights!

Although the tree lighting only occurs once, Macy’s Theatre of Lights will continue at 6:00 and 7:30 pm every Thursday – Sunday until Christmas Eve.
